• Past Future Tense

Adalah kalimat yang digunakan untuk kejadian atau peristiwa yang akan terjadi di masa lampau.

• Pattern (rumus) :

A. Verbal (kata kerja)

(+)       S + Would/ Should +Verb I + O + Keterangan

(-)        S + Would/ Should + Not + Verb I + O + Keterangan

(?)       Would/ Should + S + Verb I + O + Keterangan

Contoh :

(+)       You would read news paper yesterday

(-)        You would not read news paper yesterday

(?)        Would you read news paper yesterday?

Yes, I would         No, I would not

(+)       She would write letter in the class room

(-)        She would not write letter in the class room

(?)        Would she write letter in the class room?

Yes, she would        No, she would not

B. Non Verbal

Dibedakan menjadi 3, yaitu :

a. Adjective (kata sifat)

(+)       S + Would/ Should + Be + Adjective

(-)        S + Would/ Should + Not + Be + Adjective

(?)       Would/ Should + S + Be + Adjective

Contoh :

(+)       My father  would be funny

(-)        My father would not be funny

(?)        Would My father be funny?

Yes, He would        No, He would not

b. Noun (kata benda yang berwujud profesi)

(+)       S + Would/ Should + Be + Noun

(-)        S + Would/ Should + Not + Be + Noun

Contoh :

(+)       Your mother would be  a teacher

(-)        Your mother would not be a teacher

(?)        Would your mother be a teacher?

c. Adverb (kata keterangan)

Dibedakan menjadi 4 :

1. Adverb of place ( keterangan tempat)

Kata keterangan tempat biasanya di awali dengan Preposition (kata depan) yaitu : In, On, Beside, Behind, At, To, Top, Over, Above, Below, Under, Under, In front of, Back, Opposite, Corner, Middle, Side, dll.

2. Adverb of time ( keterangan waktu)

Kata keterangan waktu yaitu : Second, minute, Hour, Day, Week, Month, Year.

- Adverb of frequency (keterangan frekuensi)

Kata keterangan Frekuensi yaitu : Always, Usually, Sometimes, Seldom, Rarely, Generally, Often, dll.

- Adverb of manner (keterangan cara)

kata sifat yang ditambah akhiran ly, yang artinya “ dengan …”

contoh : fastly → dengan cepat

carefully → dengan hati-hati

(-)        S + Would/ Should + Not + Be + Adverb

(?)       Would/ Should + S + Be + Adverb

Note :

• “Would” untuk subjek →  Semua Subject (I, You, They, We, He, She, It)
• “Should” untuk subjek → I dan We
• Time Signal (tanda waktu) : Yesterday, last …(week, month, year, century), …ago (two days ago, ten minutes ago, three months ago), the day before yesterday, dll.
